How we make money
The seller pays us. You don't.
TryStamped is free, and not in the way most things are free. There's no fee, no subscription, no markup, and nothing to sell — and the rules that decide what you see are published, mechanical, and do not include what we get paid.
What TryStamped costs you
$0
What you pay TryStamped
$0
Added to any price you see
Nothing. Searching, comparing, and reading every page here is free, with no account, no subscription, no paywalled results tier and no "pro" plan. When you buy through a stamped link, you pay the seller their price — the identical price you'd pay reaching that listing any other way.
Worked example
Cheapest new price, for reference$799.00
Verified used price$520.00
TryStamped fee$0.00
You pay$520.00
You keep$279.00
Where the money actually comes from
Marketplaces run affiliate programs. When a visitor arrives from TryStamped and buys, the marketplace pays us a commission out of its own margin. Nothing is added to your total. If you'd found the same listing yourself, you'd have paid the same number and the marketplace would simply have kept the difference.
That's the whole business. No fee, no data sale, no advertising.
Why our incentives can't bend the ranking
The structural bit
Commission rates are set by each marketplace, and they differ. A sale on one marketplace can be worth more to us than the same sale on another, and a single results page often mixes marketplaces. We are not going to pretend otherwise, or ask you to trust that we ignore it.
The usual bias in price comparison — the top pick being whoever pays the highest commission — cannot structurally exist here. Not because we're virtuous. Because there is nothing to sell.
What we do instead is publish the rule and make it checkable. Results are ordered by landed price — item plus shipping — and nothing else. Every listing shows its landed price, so if a pricier listing ever sat above a cheaper one, you would be able to see it. The Verified Working bar works the same way: return window, seller rating, condition disclosure, buyer protection. Four published checks, and "who pays us" is not one of them.
What we won't do
- No paid placement. No retailer can buy the stamped spot, a higher position, or a badge. There is no ad inventory on this site.
- No coupon injection or link hijacking. TryStamped has no browser extension and never overwrites another site's referral tracking.
- No selling your data. There's nothing to sell — see Privacy. No accounts, no advertising trackers.
- No markup. We never quote a price above the seller's and pocket the spread.
- No sticker-price games. Shipping is included in the comparison, because a $52 item with $8 shipping loses to a $56 item that ships free — and pretending otherwise is how most comparison sites get it wrong.
The honest limits of this
Two things worth saying out loud, because they're the places a conflict could appear later:
- Rates do vary between categories. They're uniform within a search, which is what protects the ranking. But some categories pay better than others, and that could in principle influence which categories TryStamped expands into. We choose categories on whether they're useful to look up. If that ever changes, this page will say so.
- Attribution windows are short. If you browse today and buy next week, we're usually paid nothing. That's our problem, not yours — but it's the reason TryStamped is built to answer a question fast rather than to keep you on the page.
Why not ads
An ad-funded comparison site gets paid whether or not it helped you, and gets paid most by the merchants with the biggest budgets — which are rarely the cheapest. A flat commission on a purchase you chose to make only pays us when the comparison did its job. Smaller business. Much less conflicted one.
Full legal wording lives in the affiliate disclosure and terms.
